Frank Sinatra

11 years ago today Frank Sinatra passed away. In my opinion, he was the greatest vocalist of all time, and his music is timeless. 70 years after his recording debut (w/ Harry James), his music continues to live on, used for weddings, commercials, or basically any occasion where a great tune and voice is needed. The following is a recording of his last show, it's a soundboard recording so the quality is amazing. I have also posted a compilation called "From The Vaults, Vol. 2", which includes unreleased studio recordings as well as some recordings from some various TV shows.

Buddy Holly- Apartment Demos

ON this day in 1959, 22 year old Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens, aged 17, died in a crash shortly after take-off from Clear Lake, Iowa, the pilot of the single-engined Beechcraft Bonanza plane was also killed. Holly hired the plane after heating problems developed on his tourbus. All three were traveling to Fargo, North Dakota, for the next show on their Winter Dance Party Tour which Holly had set - covering 24 cities in three weeks, to make money after the break-up of his band, The Crickets, the year before.

There is a track in this compilation called "Ni***** Hatin' Me" that is clearly not Buddy Holly and I have no idea why it was on here to begin with. I have removed the track for two reasons: It's not Buddy Holly, and I have no desire to spread that kind of hateful song to anyone.

The Bob Dylan Project

Bob Dylan has an unbelievable amount of unreleased, live and demo material floating around and over the years I've managed to collect a fair amount. Over the next few months or so I'll be posting some of this material. Some of it will probably be only for hardcore fans either because of sound quality or repetitive content, but a lot of it can be enjoyed by even casual Dylan fans.
